Yeah.  I have since figured out the ways of my errors, and have gotten my own Bitlbee server up and running.  However, that link does not help me with connecting to a hidden Bitlbee server, and it does not help me with changing the Jabber priority in Bitlbee.  This is because Bitlbee is using the Gaim Jabber code which *SUCKS*.
