Well, I can assure you that you’re not alone. I had this problem all the time when I ran Windows. But on Linux, I can even perform system upgrades while burning CD’s and they turn out perfect.

Not so with Windows. Makes me glad I’m on Linux now.

I’ve always been using Nero/MagicISO for my CD/DVD ripping, burning, imaging, etc whatever, never had a problem with it…running on a single core AMD64 3500+ with a NEC burner

I was using DeepBurner Free. But I have had the same issues with Nero and Roxio as well. Never had a problem burning in Linux.

What software are you using? I use nero or alcohol to burn cd’s in windows generally. I have had more problems burning in Linux recently. Never had a problem in windows since XP.

Yesterday, I burnt a dvd while watching an avi I had downloaded. No problems with the burn. I generally surf the internet while burning as well with no issues.

Well, not only do I have the hardest time running and using Windows, I also have the hardest time finding a reason to use it period. Windows just isn’t for me.

You just seem to have the hardest time using Windows. I burn ISOs all the time in Windows and haven't had an under/over run in years (circa Windows 98). I use Alex Feinman's simple cd burner it is very nice.
