The #1 aspect that I just love about Ubuntu is the community. Making friends, acquaintances and just general social networking. Having places to turn when you need help, and being there for someone to turn to when they need help, not to mention general social atmospheres and hanging out. I understand that this isn’t for everyone, but it certainly is for me.
Well, tomorrow night, at 20:00 Eastern Time, the US Teams Mentoring Project is having a LoCo Meet-n-Greet in #ubuntu-us on Freenode IRC. If you are a member of a LoCo team here in the United States, and are curious about teams in the rest of the country and what they’re doing in their respective communities, now is the time to get to know them. In a nutshell, we’ll introduce ourselves, what state we’re from and just overall chat about our LoCo Team and members. Everyone is invited to attend, and we’ll burn the midnight oil until the flame goes out. It should be interesting and a lot of fun to see who’s where doing what and how. A very entertaining evening. Of course, if you have been wondering if there is a team in your state, this would be a good way to connect. The only thing that I ask, is the Code of Conduct is respected and adhered during the meeting.
If you would like to attend, but are unsure how to connect to IRC, or even what IRC is, take a look at the official documentation.
See you there!
