It’s important to me that my blog support OpenID for commenting under the posts. For the past few months, I have had some database problems which have kept this fine tool from working. It seems to be working currently, but I have only done limited testing. For those with OpenID accounts, please test a comment under this post, seeing if OpenID is working.
Thanks.

I’ve been able to log into the Wordpress admin panel using my OpenID account. It feels somehow weird to do that in order to leave a comment, but I guess it works.

@Marc- I may be moving away from anonymous comments to OpenID-only.

I’ve previously had trouble with OpenID integration on my own Wordpress blog. However, I think the problem may lie in a compatibility issue between my blog host server and my OpenID provider (I’m using Launchpad’s OpenID, which is current in beta).

Not that openID really stops anything as far as openID versus anonymous comments.

Maybe I screwed that up, or maybe the arms war against promiscuous openID has already started.

Yea openid rocks, just need to find the time to implement it… :/

While previously-unseen OpenID folks are only as trusty as an anonymous user, at least once a person has made valuable contributions a few times it gives you a good key to auto-approve them with!

It seems to be working for me.

I’m ashamed that I don’t have cool little OpenID logo even though I only sign in with an OpenID.

Uhhh. Well, never mind. Other people don’t? Even though it’s ‘working fine’ for them?
Weird.

@Jason- The comments above were marked as spam, and I had to manually pull them out. As such, apparently, and I don’t know why, but “how” they commented was lost in that transition. My next step is to figure out how valid comments are being lost as spam.
