Aaron: The link to your page on identi.ca is wrong. "No such user"..

Update: I was not allowed to post a comment without filling in name and e-mail, which makes the use of OpenID on this blog kinda non-existing. Are you using the latest version of the OpenID plugin?

Update 2: Even after filling in name/email I'm having problems. I get this error message: "You must submit a comment using the comment form." Trying without my OpenID-enabled URL (http://forteller.net/) now.

Julian: I hope you'll @ @evan about that OpenID problem so he can fix the bug behind it.

Jason: I've used identi.ca for many months now and it's been working all the time. I didn't have problems adding the Jabber bot either. Are you 100% sure you didn't do anything wrong? At least it has a Jabber bot, which Twitter does not, so I hope that's not what makes you say that identi.ca doesn't work!

I'd be there with you if the site didn't have a few very annoying bugs. I'm having no luck whatsoever getting the Jabber Bot to send me a message to confirm...

You complain about Twitters bugginess, jeez, at least it works.

You know I'm an Open Source fan, you know I prefer such things, you know I'm on the same gravy train as you...
But seriously, take off the rose colored goggles and realize that this service has so far to go before it means anything.

Conceptually? Great idea, immensely helpful. But give credit where credit is due, identi.ca SUCKS (for now) and needs to get a lot better.

I'll come back to it in a few months if it's still in the news.

I just tried identi.ca, and registration and use is pretty much straight forward, just like the other microblogging services.

I can't get my OpenID to work on the site, though, and I've absolutely no idea why. (It works here)

Still, it's definitely worth to look at, especially because it's open source.
