I Feel Embarassed

Every once in a while, all of us discover something on Linux that, was, well, embarassing.  Case in point, I just discovered that I have been running Ubuntu on the 386 kernel.  Talk about not optimizing the capabilities of my CPU!  As soon as I found out, I immediately made the upgrade to 686, and now the OS seems to be much more snappy, and stable.  Good thing, because running Dapper testing has been literally "testing" my nerves.  Anyway, making the upgrade was easy.  I just pulled up Synaptic, and installed the 686 linux kernel image.  Thank heaven for Synaptic and 686!
