As a result, characters that should no longer be bold, still were. A quick "s/$_//g" fixed it, even if it is side-stepping the issue. Not sure if it's irssi's fault, or my terminal, or a combination of the two, but looking through my theme file, I don't see the need for "$_". Everything is looking solid. Like your theme, as well.

My theme is based off of this one as well, and I haven't noticed any problems, but then again I may have noticed them and just grew accustomed to them. Looking pimpish though!
