New Job

Today was a big day for me. It was the day I started a new job. What's that you say? Yessir, I am no longer working for Venture Data, but I am now working for introPLAY.

introPLAY is a startup company, and I am employee #3 out of 3. We are looking to hire 1 more for the time being, so if you are interested, contact me. Basically, we are developing a web application that allows users to exercise in a social atmosphere. Think of fantasy sports, but you are the athlete, and you are part of teams and leagues competing with other teams and leagues, as well as keeping track of your personal progress.

The site is powered with Python, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript (essentially, AJAX), the Django toolkit, PostgreSQL and Debian. Everything will be running in virtual servers using OpenVZ.

All in all, I'm excited. My knowledge of Python is very limited, and Mike, my partner in crime, is willing to train me and get me caught up to speed in that area. So, for the meantime, I'll be doing all the front end GUI stuff with XHTML and CSS. No worries there.

At any event, I'm excited. If this company becomes successful, then I'll be very successful. If not, I gained very valuable development experience to propel me to the next level, whatever that may be.

Congratulations! I heard about IntroPlay from the Django site about 8 months ago. I'm stoked for you and Python rocks like no other.

    Yu-

Nope. I'm not going to burn any bridges. I didn't like the way things were handled when I left, but that doesn't mean I should go off.
