My IRC Server

I just put up an IRC server, using IRCd-Hybrid, mainly to see if I could do it. It works great. You may laugh at this, but remember Hercules, my retired laptop? Well, seeing as though I haven't been able to get a cluster up and running quite yet, I thought I would put him to good use.

If you want, although I don't know why you would, you can connect to my brand new server using irc.pthree.org on port 6667. Channel #pthree is created for this blog, again, if interested.

I may actually have some uses for it, but under the oalug.com domain rather than pthree.org. However, we shall see. Mainly, it is just experimental, and I might not even keep it up very long. Like I said earlier, I just wanted to see if I could do it, and I did.

Some IRCd support SSL, for those who don't, it is still possible to use SSL via Stunnel.
